Quick answer. ANAM is primarily the regulator of Morocco’s Compulsory Health Insurance (AMO). Its website is useful for understanding the healthcare basket, coverage rules, reference tariffs, reimbursable medicines and medical devices. It should not be confused with the organization that actually manages your affiliation, individual reimbursement claim or prior-approval file.

What this service is for

The AMO healthcare basket includes benefits defined by Law 65-00, including care related to illness or accidents, maternity, functional rehabilitation, reimbursable medicines, certain medical devices, optical care, dental care and rehabilitation. Coverage of a category does not mean every expense is paid in full: the reimbursement rate, reference basis and conditions still depend on the applicable rules.

How to proceed in practice

For many medical acts, reimbursement or coverage is calculated from a National Reference Tariff (TNR). The amount billed by a practitioner can differ from this basis. For medicines and medical devices, check the ANAM reference lists and, where required, whether prior approval from the managing organization is necessary before making a significant purchase.

Before starting, verify the current interface and requirements on the official portal. Keep any reference number, acknowledgement or confirmation generated by the competent body; e-services.ma is an independent guide and does not process the administrative file for you.

Important distinction

Use ANAM for general rules, regulatory references and information about AMO. For your own affiliation status, open rights, reimbursement or individual coverage request, contact the managing organization for your scheme, such as the relevant CNSS, CNOPS or other body. ANAM also has an arbitration and complaints role, so keep the decision, case reference and previous exchanges if you need to document a dispute.

Practical checklist

  • First identify whether you need a general rule or the follow-up of a personal file.
  • For a general rule, consult the AMO section, TNR or the relevant reference list.
  • For a personal case, identify the organization that manages your scheme and use its insured-person channel.
  • Keep the regulatory and case references if you intend to submit a complaint.

Key point: Use ANAM to understand the AMO framework and official reference lists; use your scheme’s managing body for day-to-day processing of your personal file.
