Quick answer. The judicial map is used to identify courts and their territorial organization. Its main purpose is to help you locate the competent court and find its contact details before travelling or starting a judicial procedure.
Why does the competent court matter?
A court-related procedure cannot be filed indiscriminately with any court. Jurisdiction may depend on the type of case, territorial jurisdiction and the nature of the court. The map helps with location, but it does not by itself resolve a complex legal question about jurisdiction.
Judicial map and Mahakim: do not confuse them
The map answers a location and organization question. Mahakim and other Ministry of Justice e-services are instead used for functions such as case tracking, certain document requests or online services. If you already know your court and want the status of a case, the judicial map is probably not the right tool.
Before you travel
- identify the nature of the procedure: civil, family, commercial, criminal or another matter;
- find the court corresponding to the relevant territorial jurisdiction;
- check the address and published contact details when available;
- check whether the procedure can be started online;
- for a judicial deadline, verify the court's or ministry portal's instructions directly.
If you are unsure between two courts
Do not infer jurisdiction only from geographical proximity. Rules on judicial organization and procedure can assign a case to a specific court. If the issue has important legal consequences, seek confirmation from the court registry or a qualified professional before filing.
Understanding judicial organization in more depth
The Adala portal publishes references concerning judicial organization and institutions of the judicial authority. This helps distinguish a geographical search for a court from the legal rules that determine that court's powers.
First-instance, appeal and specialized courts
The judicial system includes several levels and categories. Depending on the subject, a case may fall within a first-instance court, a court of appeal or a specialized court. The map helps locate those courts; it does not allow a user to freely choose the level at which a case should be filed.
Contact details: verify before travelling
Services, counters and opening hours can change. When your procedure requires a physical filing, confirm the address or contact information through the Ministry of Justice portal or with the relevant court. For a procedural deadline, never rely only on a directory page.

Key point: the judicial map helps you find a court; for jurisdiction or procedure, verify the applicable rule before filing.
