Quick answer. Morocco’s Ministry of Justice provides a digital route for applications for a Moroccan nationality certificate. The ministry states that a request can be submitted through Mahakim Mobile or the web application mahakim.ma, then examined by the competent public prosecutor’s office.

What the digital service changes

The service is more than an information form: according to the ministry, the platform supports submission of the request, processing by the competent services and electronic signature of certificates. This can reduce repeated travel to court, especially for applicants living far from the relevant court or outside Morocco.

Where should you start?

Use the official Mahakim portal or Mahakim Mobile. Do not confuse the nationality certificate with a criminal-record certificate. They are different documents and do not follow the same digital route. If an organization asks specifically for proof of nationality, select that service before uploading documents.

Prepare the request carefully

  1. check the applicant’s identity and civil-status information;
  2. select the nationality-certificate service, not a neighbouring judicial document;
  3. upload only the supporting documents requested for the current route;
  4. keep the application reference generated by the portal;
  5. use that reference to follow processing;
  6. if a physical step is requested, follow the instruction of the competent court.

Why there is no universal document list here

Nationality may have to be established in different legal situations. A document list copied from one case can therefore be misleading. Check the official route for the evidence matching your legal basis, family situation and civil-status record.

Digital filing does not change the competent authority

The platform facilitates filing and follow-up, but the application still depends on examination by the competent authority. Technical submission of the form does not guarantee issuance of the certificate.

Key point: use Mahakim and follow the evidence requested for your exact situation instead of relying on a generic checklist.
