CNSS — health-professional directory should be used with one important distinction: finding a healthcare professional does not automatically mean that every service they provide will be reimbursed by compulsory health insurance (AMO). Before a consultation or hospitalization, check the provider, your CNSS entitlement and, where relevant, the prior-coverage rules separately.
What CNSS manages around healthcare
CNSS manages compulsory health insurance for the populations covered by its scheme and provides digital services for insured people and healthcare providers. Provider-facing services help professionals and institutions verify beneficiaries' rights and manage certain coverage operations. For insured people, MaCNSS and CNSS online services can be used to review their situation and follow eligible files.
How to use a health directory effectively
- search by specialty and location when those filters are available;
- check that the contact details and professional identity match the practitioner or facility you intend to visit;
- before an expensive procedure, confirm your AMO rights and ask whether prior approval or coverage is required;
- do not infer the reimbursement amount from directory presence alone: the type of care, reference tariff, supporting documents and applicable scheme rules all matter.
Directory, entitlement and reimbursement are different questions
| Question | What to verify |
|---|---|
| Where can I find a professional? | The directory or search tool available through official channels. |
| Are my rights active? | Your situation in CNSS/MaCNSS services. |
| Is prior coverage required? | AMO rules and any request handled with the provider for the relevant care. |
| How much will be reimbursed? | The nature of the care, file documents, reference basis/tariff and applicable regulations. |
If you cannot find the provider
No search result, by itself, does not prove that a professional is unauthorized to practise or that care cannot be reimbursed. Check up-to-date CNSS channels, ask the provider for professional details and use CNSS online services or contact the Fund for a coverage question.

Key point: use the directory to identify a provider, but verify your entitlement and coverage conditions separately. “Found in the directory” does not mean “fully reimbursed”.
