Quick answer. A vehicle transfer is the procedure used to change the registered owner of a vehicle that is already registered in Morocco. The seller and the buyer have separate obligations. It should not be treated as a private exchange of the registration certificate with no administrative follow-up.
Seller’s obligation
NARSA states that when a vehicle registered in Morocco is sold, the seller must notify the administration within 15 days of the sale. This notification supports traceability of the transfer. It does not remove the buyer’s obligation to complete the change of ownership in the buyer’s name.
New owner’s obligation
The new owner must follow the official transfer procedure and prepare the documents required for the specific case. NARSA indicates that the sale is formalized using the prescribed form, with legalization according to the applicable process. The required documents can differ when the vehicle belongs to a company, is financed, or has another special legal or administrative situation.
Before starting on MutationVehicules.ma
- check the identity of the seller and buyer and the vehicle information;
- verify the administrative situation and the references shown on the registration certificate;
- prepare the documents corresponding to the type of seller and buyer;
- keep evidence of declarations, payments and submissions;
- never give account credentials or verification codes to an unofficial intermediary.
The sale is not the same as a completed transfer
Signing between the parties does not by itself prove that the new registered owner has been recorded by the administration. Follow the official process until the transfer is completed and keep the relevant proof. This protects both parties if questions arise later about responsibility for the vehicle.
Do not confuse different vehicle procedures
First registration, importation, a duplicate registration certificate or a simple change of address are different procedures. Use the appropriate NARSA service if your case is not a sale involving a change of owner. Starting the wrong procedure can result in unsuitable document requirements and unnecessary delays.
