Quick answer. To obtain a driving licence for the first time in Morocco, the candidate goes through an approved driving school, prepares an administrative file, then takes a theory test and a practical test with NARSA. This is not simply an online request for a document.
Minimum age by category
- AM: 14 years old;
- A1: 16 years old;
- A, B and EB: 18 years old;
- C, EC, D and ED: 21 years old.
NARSA’s page provides access for Moroccan citizens as well as foreign residents in Morocco, subject to the supporting documents required for their situation.
Application route
- contact an approved driving school;
- complete the training;
- prepare the administrative file;
- the school enters the data online and books the appointment through the dedicated platform;
- submit the file to the NARSA territorial service for the place of residence shown on your identity document;
- take the theory test and, after passing it, the practical test.
Theory test: published thresholds
NARSA indicates 20 questions for category AM, 40 for category B and 46 for categories A1, A, C, D, EB, EC and ED. The published passing scores are 15/20, 32/40 and 38/46 respectively. After a failed test, a new appointment may be issued according to the applicable procedure.
Main items in the application file
The official page mentions, among other things, the application form generated by the driving-school system, proof of payment of the required fees, identity and residence evidence, a medical certificate less than three months old issued by an approved doctor, the training-completion certificate and two recent 35 × 45 mm identity photographs on a blue background. Additional documents may apply to particular situations.
After you pass
After successfully completing the practical test, NARSA states that a provisional licence valid for 60 days is issued. At the end of that period it is exchanged for the definitive card, whose validity is set at 10 years, subject to the rules applicable during the probationary period.
Cost: why one generic figure is misleading
NARSA publishes reference pricing that varies according to the licence category, the number of theory and practical training hours, and the applicable fees. Use the official table for the category you are applying for instead of relying on one generic amount.

Key point: the driving school handles parts of the data entry and appointment process, but NARSA is responsible for the examination and licence issuance.
