The OMPIC Business creation and lifecycle section explains the administrative stages of a company, from choosing a name to the formalities after registration. Since DirectEntreprise was rolled out nationally, it is important to distinguish the OMPIC information page from the electronic one-stop shop used to complete procedures.
Creating a legal entity: stages to understand
OMPIC presents the negative certificate as an important first step for reserving a company name, acronym or trade sign. This reservation does not replace trademark protection. The following stages depend on the legal form and include registration formalities and obligations with the relevant administrations.
After registration
The OMPIC page also recalls publication obligations after company creation and CNSS affiliation for businesses subject to it. Tax, social-security and registry obligations should therefore not be considered complete merely because the trade name has been reserved.
DirectEntreprise: the electronic one-stop shop
OMPIC announced in 2025 that the electronic business-creation platform had been rolled out throughout Morocco. The one-stop shop brings together procedures involving several bodies, including OMPIC, local commercial registries, the DGI, CNSS and the Official Printing Office. See our DirectEntreprise — online company creation page for the digital route.
Which page should you use?
- Understand the stages: OMPIC “Business creation and lifecycle” section.
- Complete a company creation electronically: DirectEntreprise.
- Search for legal company information: use the appropriate DirectInfo services.
If your aim is to protect a sign for goods or services, do not rely on the trade-name reservation alone. DirectInfo services serve a different information-search purpose, while DirectEntreprise is the electronic company-creation route. Identifying the objective first helps avoid confusing these separate functions.
When do you need another OMPIC route?
Use the OMPIC information page first to understand the sequence of stages and what happens before and after registration. If your goal is to create the company online, then move to DirectEntreprise and follow the route corresponding to the legal form and file concerned. Obtaining a negative certificate is not the end of the creation procedure: it concerns the name reservation, while registration and later obligations remain separate.
