Passeport.ma — Purchase the passport e-stamp: practical guide

Quick answer. To complete a passport application form on Passeport.ma, the official portal says that you must first have a valid 16-digit e-stamp code, except where the form provides for an exemption. Buying the e-stamp is therefore a preparatory step: it is neither the final submission of the passport file nor the issuing of the passport.

What is the e-stamp code for?

The code represents payment of the stamp duty applicable to the request. The Passeport.ma form includes a “Code Timbre” field before the applicant’s personal information. The official website therefore recommends obtaining the code before starting the form so that the online entry is not interrupted midway.

Recommended order of steps in Morocco

1. open the “Buy your e-Timbre online” section on Passeport.ma;
2. follow the official payment channel offered there to obtain the code;
3. keep the 16-digit code and the related proof carefully;
4. return to Passeport.ma and complete the form corresponding to the applicant’s category;
5. print the form as indicated by the portal;
6. complete the file with the documents required for that category;
7. submit the file to the competent authority indicated for your place of residence.

Do not confuse payment with the passport application

A valid e-stamp code is not enough to obtain a passport. For a biometric passport application in Morocco, the portal also describes completing and printing the form, assembling the file, submitting it to the competent administrative annex or caïdat, and collecting the passport according to the procedure. If you restart the form

Before buying a second e-stamp because a form entry was interrupted, first check whether your existing code is still valid in the official process. Do not publish the code or send it to an unidentified intermediary: it is one of the elements needed for your application.

Documents and applicant categories

Passeport.ma distinguishes adults, adults under guardianship and several categories of minors. The required documents are not identical in every situation. The official portal publishes the list for each category; use that current list rather than a generic checklist reproduced on another website.
