Illustration of the DGI service in Morocco — Registration-fee payment

Quick answer. The DGI “registration fees” e-service allows vehicle dealers to pay vehicle registration duties electronically. The Ministry of Economy and Finance states that the service is available in the SIMPL environment under Registration and Stamp Duty. It should therefore not be confused with the full range of NARSA procedures relating to vehicle registration certificates or vehicle transfers.

Who is this e-service for?

The institutional announcement introducing the service explicitly refers to vehicle dealers. If you are an individual buying or selling a vehicle, do not assume this portal replaces every stage of your file: taxation, administrative registration and issue of the vehicle document may involve different organizations and separate steps.

What does the online payment provide?

The service was created to pay registration fees electronically. After payment, a payment certificate is generated. The DGI explains that this certificate contains a reference that can be used to check its authenticity through the certificate-verification service on the DGI portal.

Three checks before you pay

  1. Check your profile. The service documented by the DGI is aimed at dealers; an individual may need a different route.
  2. Check the vehicle and amount. Use only references shown in the official file or system and review the information before confirming.
  3. Keep the certificate. It is proof of payment and its reference can be verified through DGI services.

DGI or NARSA: what is the difference?

The DGI intervenes here for the tax payment. NARSA, on the other hand, manages many administrative procedures relating to vehicles and circulation documents. A DGI payment alone therefore does not mean that registration or transfer is complete. After payment, continue the administrative route corresponding to your vehicle transaction.

If the portal does not recognize your file

Do not make several payments “to test”. First verify that you are using the right e-service and that your file is eligible. If a reference or certificate appears inconsistent, use official DGI channels and keep proof of any operation already completed.

Key point: this page covers the DGI registration-fee payment documented for vehicle dealers. For the registration certificate, transfer or other vehicle formalities, separately verify the applicable NARSA route.
