How to read these times?
Prayer times change every day according to the position of the sun and the city. The page automatically loads the selected month for Tangier. For institutional information or a difference of a few minutes, always give priority to the publication of the Ministry of Habous.
Useful prayer-time notes for Tangier
Tangier is in Morocco’s far north-west, facing the Strait of Gibraltar in the Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceïma region. Prayer times should therefore be calculated for Tangier itself rather than copied from a nearby city. Small differences in latitude and longitude can change sunrise, Maghrib or Fajr by the minutes that matter when planning a prayer or a journey.
Reading the monthly changes
For Tanger, use the month selector instead of keeping an old screenshot: solar times shift gradually throughout the year. Fajr, sunrise and Maghrib often make the change easiest to notice, but the other prayer times also vary. The figures shown are calculated starts of prayer times; a local mosque may announce congregation a little later.
Comparing another city
If you are travelling toward Tétouan, open that city’s page before departure instead of reusing the Tangier timetable. Nearby or administratively related cities can have close values, but they are not interchangeable when you need an exact start time.
Which source should you follow?
For Tangier, the institutional reference is the Moroccan Ministry of Habous and Islamic Affairs. The Ministry states that ritual prayer times are established for each locality in the Kingdom. If the calculated value on this page differs from an official or mosque timetable, use the local Habous publication as the reference.
