Quick answer. A NARSA driving-licence duplicate mainly concerns a licence that has been lost or stolen. It is different from renewal or exchange because the card is damaged or expired, and it is also different from exchanging a foreign driving licence.
Where is the application filed?
NARSA information indicates that the file is submitted through an approved Al Barid Bank or Barid Cash agency. The agency receives the file, NARSA territorial services validate it, and the new card is collected from the agency after processing. Online follow-up is available and an SMS may notify the user when the duplicate is ready.
Documents listed by NARSA for loss or theft
- completed and signed renewal/duplicate application form;
- identity and residence evidence appropriate to the applicant;
- receipt for stamp duty and service charges;
- medical certificate issued less than three months earlier by an approved doctor;
- two recent 35 × 45 mm identity photographs on a blue background;
- loss or theft declaration issued by the competent authority.
The NARSA page checked for this procedure currently states 400 DH in stamp and service charges. Verify the amount again at the time of filing because tariffs and practical arrangements can change.
Do not confuse duplicate with exchange or renewal
| Licence lost or stolen | Duplicate |
| Card damaged or expired | Exchange / renewal |
| Identity changed | Exchange with proof of the change |

Who can apply?
The NARSA documentation covers holders of Moroccan licences living in Morocco and some situations involving people who no longer live there. When loss or theft happens abroad, the declaration may come from a Moroccan diplomatic or consular mission or another competent authority according to the case.
After filing
- the approved agency records the file in the NARSA system;
- the territorial service checks and validates it;
- the applicant can follow processing;
- after completion, the new card is collected from the filing agency.

Key point: loss or theft = duplicate; damage, expiry or identity change = another route.
