Quick answer. The DGI electronic tax-stamp service is used to buy or pay for a tax stamp online when the administrative procedure accepts that method. Do not choose an amount by habit: the stamp type and amount depend on the procedure for which the stamp is required.
What does the electronic tax stamp do?
The General Tax Directorate has integrated tax-stamp purchases into its digital services. The Ministry of Economy and Finance also indicates that the Daribati application can be used by the public for purchasing tax stamps, while DGI activity reports describe the expansion of payment channels. The payment tool and the administrative procedure that later uses the stamp remain two separate steps.
The receipt or transaction reference produced by the tax service proves payment. It does not automatically replace the passport request, document application or authorization to which the stamp may be attached.
Recommended route before paying
- Identify the procedure first. Check the responsible authority’s official portal to confirm that a tax stamp is required and what amount applies to your case.
- Open the official domain. The service referenced here uses
timbre-fiscal.tax.gov.ma. - Review the details. Check the stamp type, amount, references and payment method before validation.
- Keep proof. Save the receipt, transaction reference or other generated evidence until the administrative procedure is complete.
E-Timbre, Daribati or another DGI service?
| Need | Route |
|---|---|
| Buy a tax stamp online | DGI E-Timbre portal |
| Access several tax services | DGI portal or Daribati where the required function is available |
| Pay the stamp used for a passport | Start with the passport E-Timbre guide |
| File or pay a tax obligation | Use the relevant DGI/SIMPL service, not the tax-stamp page by default |
Common mistakes
- paying before confirming which procedure and amount apply;
- confusing a payment receipt with the final administrative document;
- entering bank details on an unofficial intermediary website;
- closing the page without saving the transaction reference.
